Developer of interactive mobile TV and rich on-device media portal solutions for Symbian smartphones, weComm, has partnered with UIQ Technology to develop an open user interface platform based on the Symbian operating system.
The agreement allows UIQ Technology’s customers, as well as weComm’s media, entertainment and operator clients, to benefit from advanced innovation in the user interface for phones running powerful media applications, including reduced time to market and closer integration of applications with the UIQ platform.
This is not the first time the two companies have collaborated; a UIQ version of the weComm-developed Sky Anytime on Mobile application was pre-loaded on Motorola’s recently launched UIQ handset, the MOTORIZR Z8.
