JVC KA-MR100G JVC announced at IBC 2008 that it has allied with Sony Corp. in support of the XDCAM EX MPEG-2 professional video format and SxS solid-state flash storage technology. The first JVC product featuring native XDCAM EX file recording and an SXS card slot is the KA-MR100G, which docks with JVC's ProHD GY-HD200/150 series of cameras.
JVC also unveiled a new hard drive disk drive to support the company's growing lineup of camera-mounted media recorders.
The MR-HD100U operates in both DV and HDV formats and can provide recording times of up to 10 hours. The unit records natively in both QuickTime .mov and .m2t files and in 720 and 1080 resolutions, and also in .mxf 720p30 and 1080i 50/60 to support Avid NLEs.
JVC also announced a new line of high-definition LCD professional monitor, the Vérité. Screen sizes of 17, 20, and 24-inches are available. The units provide full-resolution display of 720p and 1080i images.
The company also showed two new multiformat compact digital video switchers, the KM-H3000 and the KM-H2500. These are designed for space-limited applications and include built-in frame synchronizers and up/down conversion capability. The KM-H3000 switches six sources and the KM-H2500 accommodates up to 12.
