JVC Introduces Optical Wireless HD Video Transmission System
By TVTechnology
published JVC has developed an optical wireless transmission system capable of sending uncompressed HD-quality video to home receivers.
The new technology, targeting home theater systems, can achieve ultra-high speed transmission of 1.25 Gbps by using a laser diode to transmit high quality video to compact receivers equipped with a high-sensitivity APD (Avalanche Photodiode). The "eye safe" optical system can transmit pixel data up to 10 meters, making it possible for home users to create "wireless viewing environments." The system is particularly suitable for high-end systems using wall-mounted displays and projection systems.
