KAYU-TV deploys 360 Systems server for multicasting
KAYU-TV, the Fox affiliate in Spokane, WA, has deployed a 360 Systems Image Server 2000 to set up an additional playout channel on its DTV subchannels.
The Image Server 2000 includes three video channels and stores up to 170 hours of MPEG-2 video on internal drives. The server combines MPEG-2, DV and TARGA graphics in one box. In addition, users can import and play ganged key-and-fill graphics, plus an MPEG-2 or DV stream at the same time.
KAYU said that once video services and GPI/Os were connected, and commercials, IDs and promos ingested, its engineers set up the system log and placed the Image Server on the air for its digital subchannel, the Tube Music Network.
