KPBS-TV relies on 360 Systems time delay for V-ME playout

When KPBS-TV in San Diego needed to delay the feed of a new network from WNET-TV in New York City, the 360 Systems 2470 Broadcast Time Delay provided the solution.

The 24/7 V-ME Spanish-language network launched in March, and WNET began distributing a single time zone feed to 16 PBS stations in the country. All but the stations in the Eastern Time zone have to delay the feed for rebroadcast.

Designed to compensate for time zone differences encountered in delivering video content, the 2470 Delay can be programmed to any time interval required from 20 seconds to more than 24 hours. The 2470 Delay can compensate during transmission for different time zones or be used by local broadcasters to delay incoming feeds for rebroadcast at a specific local time.

The 2470 Delay's feature set includes embedded audio, AES/EBU and analog audio, SDI and composite video, and all VBI data. It can maintain single-frame accuracy over an infinite time period.
