Leitch adds HDV, Varicam support in VelocityHD v. 9.1 release
Leitch Technology has introduced version 9.1 software for its VelocityHD HD/SD nonlinear editing system. The system supports the HDV high-definition format, variable frame rate processing for content from Panasonic’s VariCam, and broadened SD format support.
VelocityHD 9.1 supports direct IEEE 1394 I/O of both 1080i and 720p material from HDV devices. HDV content can be mixed seamlessly with other HD formats on the timeline.
VelocityHD 9.1 also adds processing of Panasonic VariCam variable frame rate material, enabling the removal of VariCam material’s non-active frames while recording the HD-SDI input stream.
The company broadened VelocityHD’s SD format support with direct timeline support for DV25 and DVCPRO content, including that from Panasonic’s P2 tapeless memory-based products and many tapeless recording devices.
