Link adds 7GHz system to RF lineup
At IBC2006 next month in Amsterdam, Link Research will show a 7GHz wireless camera system, new fiber-optic interface units and a new clip-on control panel for LinkXP, as well as the LinkHD system for HDTV.
The 7GHz transmitter has been developed to counter the increasing problems of frequency congestion, adding the 6.4GHz – 7.1GHz band to complement Link’s 1.95 – 2.7GHz and 3.4 – 3.58GHz units. It will be demonstrated live at IBC.
The fiber-optic interface units allow antennas and downconverters to be located farther from the main OB site and linked back to the receivers through fiber-optic cables. It makes monitoring and operation easier and easily covers large areas.
The control panel clips onto the LinkXP transmitter so frequency and other parameters can be configured in the field without an IPAQ or laptop.
