LMG turns to Kahuna production switcher
Video, audio, lighting and presentation support provider LMG has built its second video production "truck in a box" engineered around the Snell & Wilcox Kahuna SD/HD production switcher.
The multiformat capabilities of LMG's HD-1 and newly completed HD-2 have been used by LMG to support high-profile presentations at corporate events and trade shows across the United States.
LMG's HD-1 and HD-2 are fully portable fly-pack systems that provide the capabilities of a teleproduction truck in easily shipped containers. The fly-packs are designed to set up in minutes and provide maximum flexibility in the show environment. At their debut together, the two Kahuna production switchers handled and mixed feeds from HD projectors, HD cameras, SD sources and multiple computer sources.
The Kahuna allows LMG's HD-1 and HD-2 operators to combine HD and SD material, both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, and play out HD content while recording a Betacam or DigiBeta version for archiving purposes.
