Marshall Electronics to Introduce New Rackmount Audio Monitors
Marshall Electronics will unveil its new AR-DM series rackmount audio monitors at NAB2007.
The new AR-DM series--five highly configurable models--are ultra-nearfield audio monitoring systems for space critical environments with interchangeable input modules and field-upgradeable firmware capability. With a rich feature set, the new AR-DM series monitors are designed for TV facilities, studios, post production, VTR bays, mobile production vehicles, satellite links, and anywhere else multichannel audio monitoring is required.
The series includes two single rack units and three 2 RU models. All five models support 16 audio channels and provide four slots for the available interchangeable input modules. Available input modules include SDI/HD-SDI with re-clocked loop through (eight stereo de-embedded channels); quad unbalanced BNC AES/EBU with loop through; and quad balanced AES/XLR to DB-25 with loop through.
They feature Class D (digital) amplification, 100 percent digital processing, and provide selectable stereo downmix modes. Also, all models provide Dolby Digital/Dolby E decoding capability (with the optional Dolby E module), and a quarter-inch headphone jack with Level control. For audio playback, single-rack units provide twin loudspeakers while 2 RU models provide larger, high performance transducers plus a subwoofer.
For visual monitoring of signal presence and system status, the 1 RU AR-DM1 and AR-DM2 each provide tri-color LEDs. The 2 RU models--the AR-DM1-B and AR-DM2-B--provide 10- and 20-segment tri-color bargraphs respectively. The flagship model AR-DM2-L provides dual high-resolution 640XRGBX480 4-inch LCD monitors capable of displaying a wealth of information, including a high-contrast, tri-color 16-bargraph display in one window and critical metadata or channel status information in the other.
All AR-DM Series Rackmount Audio monitor models are expected to be available in the third quarter of 2007.
Marshall Electronics will be in booth SU1926.
