MAYAH rolls out C11 audio codec family
MAYAH Communications is unveiling its C11 audio codec family designed for space-saving, energy-efficient, silent use at IBC2008.
Every C11 audio codec fits in one half of a 19in rack width and is 1RU high. C11 codecs can be stacked and don’t require forced cooling. Operation is silent and the C11 consumes just 8W of power.
All 14 models in the C11 family provide audio-over-IP with SIP/RTP according to the EBU N/ACIP standard. Additionally, C11 codecs support automatic optimization of the IP connection.
Additionally the C1140/1 and C1160/1 are provided with four ISDN BRIs. The C1190/1’s dual Ethernet interface can be used for redundant streaming or for separation of streaming and control. The C1180/1 is available with an audio encoder with ASI interface for DVB environment deployment.
With the optional interface cards, C11 codecs can be turned into a POTS codec as well as transmit and receive audio over wireless 3G/UMTS networks.
