MAYAH to introduce Sporty portable reporter codec
MAYAH Communications has introduced Sporty, a portable reporter codec with communications and audio recording capabilities.
Sporty can send and receive audio signals over IP/Ethernet, including such Internet access types as ADSL or SDSL, as well as over optional Wi-Fi/WLAN or UMTS/3G/3.5G interfaces. ISDN is also available, supporting different protocols for worldwide communication and amended by the MAYAH FlashCast technology for automatic recognition of and synchronization with mostl ISDN codecs. For locations with no any digital communication possibilities, Sporty supports the conventional analog telephone lines (PSTN).
For live transmission, Sporty offers MPEG-4 HE AACv2 for high-quality sound at the lowest possible bit rates and AAC ELD (Enhanced Low Delay, implementation by Coding Technologies) for lower latency at comparatively low bit rates.
