Media 100 Debuts Version 12.0
Editing systems provider Media 100 recently introduced a 12.0 version of its product, which will be on the market during the third quarter of 2007. Customers can purchase the Media 100 Platinum Software Agreement for $895. Customers holding valid Media 100 Platinum Software Agreements receive Version 12.0 free of charge.
Media 100 stated that the new version adds support for progressive frame formats, including Kona 3/HD Suite Formats—480p, 720p 23.98 (HD Suite Only), 720p 50, 720p 59.94, 720p 60, 1080 PsF 23.98, 1080 PsF 24, 1080 P 25, 1080 P 29.97 and 1080 P 30. All progressive formats play back in real time without rendering.
It also allows for deeper integration with the product line offered by effects and graphics developer Boris FX, which acquired Media 100’s operating assets in late 2005. According to the company, clip effects and transitions can be applied and saved as favorites within the Media 100 interface. Effects can be processed in 16-bit per channel color space for maximum quality and color accuracy. Media 100 also indicated that Boris FX plug-ins take advantage of the latest Mac-Intel processors to render at optimum speed.
