Metric Halo has announced that the TDM RTAS versions of its ChannelStrip plug-in with major updates are now shipping. The 2.2 update provides several significant product enhancements and is available free to all registered OS X users.
ChannelStrip v2.2 is a universal binary tool that supports Pro Tools 6.4 - 7.3 on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs. It provides complete support for HD|Accel DSPs and PCIe cards on all Mac platforms, and continues to support Mix and HD systems.
Originally developed in 1998, Metric Halo's ChannelStrip has been an integral part of a myriad of Grammy-winning records, hit TV shows and blockbuster movies. It was one of the first plug-ins to bring classic, large-format console-style channel processing to Pro Tools. With 48-bit EQ on the platform, ChannelStrip has been a critical tool for thousands of professional recording engineers, producers, composers and musicians worldwide.
In addition to the free upgrade to OS X users, Metric Halo has announced a significant reduction in licensing costs through April 15. A 12-day free trial version is also available for download.
