Miranda Adds to Line of Interfaces for Sony, Panasonic HD Cams
Montreal-based Miranda Technologies extended its line of monitoring interfaces for Sony and Panasonic HD cameras with the MDC-900/920 downconverter and SER-900 HD serializer, reduced-functionality versions of the company's DVC-800 downconversion and DV encoding interfaces for HD cameras.
MDC-900/920 includes the features of the DVC-800, with the exception of the DV encoding capability, and is used for on-site, rough-cut editing and the preparation of dailies. It enables HD serializing, aspect ratio conversion, metadata entry and additional audio track embedding. The SER-900 serializer interface shares the same chassis as the MDC-900 and offers Sony HDCAM HD parallel component-to-HD-SDI conversion.
The interfaces handle a range of HD formats, including 1080i, 1080p and 720p; and frame rates including 23.98 psF, 50i and 59.94i.
