NDS to showcase headend for multiplatform content support at IBC2007
At IBC2007, NDS will launch its Unified Headend, which allows service providers to centrally manage content usage rights across multiple types of platforms, including mobile devices. Cable operators and other service providers can use it to monetize pay-TV content for such services as video downloading, sharing and streaming across broadcast or mobile platforms.
The headend features NDS’s Business Management Platform, which works in tandem with deployed NDS Conditional Access (CA) and Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies to support the ability to manage users’ rights across devices and platforms, enable crossplatform and crossdevice business offers and crossplatform device usage data for personalization and better targeting. Transport stream formats supported include DMB, DVB-T, DVB-H/SH, IP, MediaFLO, STiMI and WiMAX.
