Network Electronics Marks 10th Anniversary at NAB

At NAB2006, Network Electronics will celebrate its 10th anniversary by introducing a number of new products addressing fiber optic transport applications and IPTV.

The VikinX Sublime series of small and medium sized routing switchers offers matrices of 8 x 8 to 64 x 64 and 128 x 2 and supports all known formats from analog video/audio to 1.5 Gbps HDTV; the SL-3GHD range of the Sublime line is the world's first routing switcher for 3 Gbps 1080p single link HD video, according to Network Electronics. Other features include control via IP/Ethernet, RS-232/422, NCB; compact 5cm (2-inch) frame depth, allowing front and rear rack mount; built in control panel; programmable button configuration; flexible local and external control panels; ultralow power; interoperability with VikinX modular and compact ranges of routers and signal diagnostics.

In conjunction with the launch of Sublime, Network will also introduce the SL-D32P, a 32-port configurable data router for machine control routing in broadcast facilities.

A new system configurator for VikinX will also be featured at the Network Electronics booth. The configurator uses wizards and drag and drop menus that guide the operator through the installation process. The system configurator replaces the previous control panel configurator for VikinX.

Network Electronics will also debut a new controller for its Flashlink line of monitoring and control products. The GYDA-SC MK II Flashlink Controller is a monitoring card for the Flashlink optical transport and signal processing system that controls up to 8 Flashlink frames and provides a standard 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface with TCP/IP protocol, enabling standard Web browsers to configure and monitor Flashlink. It also accommodates router control, enabling users to combing routing, transport and processing under a unified graphical user interface.

Also new from Network Electronics is the LB-EO/LB-OE, the first product in a new line of Flashlink fiber-optic interfacility products for transporting analog RF signals covering applications in earth stations, CATV headends and broadcast facilities. Network will also unveil the Flashlink SDI-TD-MUX-4, which time division multiplexes four SDI, DVB-ASI or SDTI signals into one HD signal.

Addressing IP, the company will roll out the SDI-IP-GTW, which provides an IPTV gateway solution for transmitting uncompressed SDI over IP networks

Finally, the new AV-HD-XMUX high definition audio embedder/de-embedder series will make its NAB debut. The compact line offers multiformat SD/HD support and offers both optical inputs and outputs as options.

Network Electronics will be in Booth SU199.
