Neutrik offers low-voltage camera cable for Opticon’s single-mode cable
Neutrik has expanded opticalCON’s line of preassembled mobile field cables with a new camera link, the opticalCON Low Voltage Camera/Single-mode Hybrid cable. The new solution is ideal for a variety of broadcast applications, including live performances and mobile broadcast studios/trucks.
OpticalCON cable connectors are preassembled with a choice of six mobile field cables. This includes rugged hybrid, lightweight mobile field cables with two multi- or single-mode fibers, a four-pole Y-split and a SMPTE cable. The company now offers a low-voltage camera/single-mode hybrid cable that is optimized for camera link systems (ENG/SNG), camera adapter systems, camera cranes and powered downconverter boxes for broadcast applications where extra low voltage, less than 50 VAC, is required.
The IP65 rated opticalCON increases the reliability and maximizes the uptime for fiber-optic connection systems. While this new system is based on a standard optical LC-Duplex connection, the opticalCON improves the original design to ensure a safe and rugged connection. It enables up to four copper wires to run power or data signals through. A special SMPTE-version1 has been optimized for broadcast applications, which provides an additional ground-shell contact.
