New Omneon Spectrum Component Ups Bandwidth
Omneon Video Networks is rolling out a new member of the company's Spectrum line, the MediaDirector 4202, which has the capability of doubling overall system bandwidth to support higher channel counts and higher IP throughput.
MediaDirector incorporates multiple IEEE 1394b 800 Mbps busses to achieve enhanced real-time data throughput, as well as six Fibre Channel connectors for additional Fibre Channel storage bandwidth, and two additional Gigabit Ethernet ports.
Omneon is also extending its multiformat HD capabilities to support Avid's DNxHD format. This new functionality will allow any Omneon Spectrum system to be able to record and play DNxHD files using the Avid DNxchange codec. Recorded clips are available immediately for editing in Avid suites. Finished clips exported to the Omneon server can be played out immediately.
Omneon will also be showing ProBrowse for creating and viewing low-resolution proxy versions of full resolution material contained in Spectrum servers.
Omneon Video Networks will be in Booth SU2959.
