New Telestream Encoding Development Crosses Editing Platforms

Telestream has announced a new enhancement to its line of desktop media encoding products that provides support from both Windows- and Mac-based editing platforms. The Nevada City, Calif. company says that now its Episode and Episode applications can encode media to virtually every audio and video file format.

"We've heard loud and clear from the market that Windows users want the powerful capabilities that Episode for the Mac provides," said Barbara DeHart, Telestream's vice president of marketing. "With availability on both platforms and support for all major formats, including Flash 8 as a standard feature—all in a single tool, Episode is well positioned to streamline any encoding workflow need."

Along with the new cross-platform, a new "watch folder" addition has been made to the encoding products. This allows users to simply place finished editing projects into folders for automatic encoding, saving both user effort and time.

Telestream Episode products are scalable from single user standalone desktop media encoding applications to large volume server-based encoding applications.
