Newport Media samples system-on-a-chip for MediaFLO
Newport Media is sampling its new single-chip solution for the MediaFLO mobile broadcast platform, the NMI700 FLO, targeted at designers of cellular handsets and non-connected portable devices.
The mobile digital TV receiver integrates a dual-band VHF and UHF radio, FLO demodulator, MAC and all required memory into a single monolithic CMOS device, and requires other external memory, baluns or loop filters to create a complete solution. In addition, it features up to 120dB of variable gain and greater than 50dB of adjacent channel selectivity. The device consumes 20MW of power and combines a 3.0dB noise figure with a +5dBm IP3.
The NMI700 FLO SOC is the latest addition to Newport Media’s line of SOC solutions for mobile TV standards, which includes SOCs for DVB-T/H and ISDB-T.
