NTT Electronics announces PINEA H.264 codec

published NTT Electronics has introduced the PINEA real-time H.264/AVC HDTV codec module with a PCI Express interface; mass production is scheduled for June 2009.
PINEA not only supports high-resolution video compression but also offers a compact form and low-power consumption. The PCI Express interface also reduces development time.
Features include:
- Real-time H.264/AVC HDTV codec supporting video compression for a single channel of HD video (1080/60i, 720/60p), four channels of SD video and eight-channels of CIF video simultaneously
- Motion JPEG decoding
- AES encryption
Applications for the PINEA module include PC-based video conferencing, video surveillance equipment, professional video servers and video compression accelerators for PCs.
