NTT Electronics to Showcase New Developments in AVC/H.264
NTT Electronics Corp. will show the HV9100 series, a high-quality encoder and decoder for content transmission at IBC2008. The encoder and decoder include an IC developed in-house that provides AVC/H.264 compression, supports 4:2:2 chroma and realizes low delay time. They support both HD (1080i and 720p) and SD (480i and 576i) and a maximum of two audio systems, for a total of eight-channel encoding and decoding.
It also supports the MPEG-2 format as well as AVC/H.264. These devices began shipping in January, and the company said many broadcasters are using the HV9100 series for live HD coverage of sports events.
Also on display will be the SARAENC/DEC Module, which inherits the high-quality NTT VASA Module. The HD H.264/MPEG-2 multiformat encoder and decoder modules—SARAENC/DEC Module—support 4:2:2 chroma for both H.264 and MPEG-2 with additional support for a wide range of bit-rates from 6 to 40 Mbps (H.264).
NTT Electronics will be at Stand 1.B18.
