Nucomm to Unveil New Microwave Gear at IBC
Nucomm, Inc., a subsidiary of The Vitec Group, is introducing several new additions to its line of professional wireless broadcast gear at IBC.
IBC will mark the European debut of Nucomm’s new 7 Series HD ready product line, which replaces Nucomm’s standard-def gear. Included in the series are the Channel Master TX7 portable transmitter, Channel Master RX7 portable receiver, Newscaster VT7 ENG.OB van transmitter and the Newscaster CR7 central receiver. All products in the 7 Series can be delivered with HD capability or as SD for future field upgrades to HD via a software key.
The company’s Analog Coder 2 modulator has been upgraded to allow ATSC 19.39 Mbps data streams plus a full T1 Data Pack to be transmitted without any loss in signal quality. Analog Coder 2 can accommodate DVB-ASI and SMPTE-310M as either input or output.
Also on hand at the show from Nucomm is the CC-1 Camera Control unit, designed to work with Nucomm’s CamPac 2 HD/SD COFDM camera-back transmitter. The CC-1 expands the CamPac 2’s features through a software-based data interface that allows the CP2/CC-1 to work with various camera manufacturer’s control panels and command protocols. It’s available in two radio options: either a licensed 450 MHz or an unlicensed spread spectrum 900 MHz.
Nucomm will be at Stand 1.A30.
