Omneon has introduced MigrateTool software that converts legacy video server formats to QuickTime.
MigrateTool saves the metadata and vertical interval data stored in each clip, simplifying the conversion process by eliminating the need for data entry.
The software allows Omneon Spectrum media server users to 're-wrap' legacy media files for playout from the Omneon system, according to Gregg Stedman, vice president of the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company.
For archiving, users specify the directory where the material will be transferred to and MigrateTool automatically translates and transfers the file.
MigrateTool is designed for Windows 2000 and XP.
