OmniBus, AMD partner on IP-based broadcast automation
OmniBus Systems announced at NAB2006 that it is partnering with AMD on a streamlined IP-based automation technology for broadcasters.
OmniBus and AMD have worked closely to optimize the performance of the AMD Opteron processor within the OmniBus iTX software-based automation system, enabling iTX users to enjoy exceptional processing power in an IT-centric solution capable of duplicating the entire transmission chain.
The format-independent and bit rate-agnostic iTX intelligent transmission software replicates all functions of transmission.
The iTX system software fulfills a variety of roles, including: video server, master control, graphics and logo inserter with automation, ingest, editing and basic content management functionality. A drag-and-drop interface allows operators to monitor and control multiple channels and schedules on-screen simultaneously. Captions, logos, video effects and audio effects are built into the interface.
