PostWorks, New York chooses Pro-Bel
PostWorks, New York — a full service post-production facility for video and film — has chosen Pro-Bel equipment for an upgrade to its infrastructure.
The post facility purchased two Sirius Gold routers, one configured as a 320 x 320 HD/SD matrix and the other 320 x 320 AES/64 x 64 analog audio. It also purchased two analog video Freeways, one 128 x 128 and the second 48 x 128.
PostWorks also significantly upgraded the capabilities of its existing Aurora router control system to provide new facilitywide flexibility.
The facility said it needed new capabilities due to the additional resources demanded by high-definition video. New HDCAM SR VTRs have more I/O, 12 channels of audio, 4:4:4 RGB dual link I/O as well as format conversion outputs. The facility’s episodic TV clients are using SR for the audio channels and feature film clients are using SR’s 4:4:4 RGB interface for digital intermediate work. It all added up to the need for greater routing capacity.
The new Pro-Bel routers serve as the backbone for telecine, editorial, duplication, digital intermediate and digital media (digital dailies) workflows in the facility. The new control system, the main set-up panel for each suite, makes signal routing easier and faster for operators prior to sessions.
