Pragmatic announces MuSe music server
Pragmatic Communication Systems has announced a new product, the MuSe multichannel digital music server designed for professional, commercial, industrial and high-end residential applications. The unit is housed in a 4RU, 19in chassis with a locking security cover.
MuSe comes preconfigured to serve up to four channels of stereo music simultaneously. The music files can be accessed from a multitude of different media including the internal hard disc, DVD, USB drives and any other drive on the network. Each channel can be scheduled to use multiple playlists, each of which supports up to 5000 songs and features built-in random selection to prevent sequential and repetitive play. MuSe also generates a log file of all the songs played including time and titles. The hard disk comes with an 80GB capacity, but can be customized to more than 400GB.
The system is designed for 24/7 autonomous operation, eliminating the need for a supporting keyboard, mouse or video display. Music can be loaded onto the system’s hard drives via USB, DVD or Ethernet connection, while interface to Pragmatic’s PADS products allows for distribution via Cat 5 cables. The unit weighs only 39lbs and features an 110/240V switchable power supply.
