QuStream’s Cheetah Gets New Tools
QuStream’s Cheetah modular video distributed routing system is the recipient of new tools on display at the NAB Show. The Cheetah MUX and DE-MUX cards are video embedded audio routing cards. Both cards can intermix embedded audio, MADI, AES (balanced and unbalanced) and analog audio. The cards are also compatible with Dolby E.

Each card can handle 16 video channels with up to 128 total audio channels per card. The DE-MUX card, an input, de-embeds audio for use within the router. The DE-MUX also reclocks the audio to support SMPTE 259, SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M. The MUX card embeds the audio into the video.
Other Cheetah news includes upgrades to the system to handle 3 Gbps video.
Also new for the show is the Tiger Pro Routing Switcher. The 4 RU Tiger is a modular (up to 144 x 144 channels) switcher designed for 3G SDI, HD SDI or Dual Link SDI. The Tiger is fully compatible with QusStream’s QFX series if fiber media extenders. It is also compatible with QuStream 3500PRO and PERC2000 control systems and can be remotely operated with QuStream RCP remote control panels and AMX and Crestron controllers.
QuStream will be at Booth N3421.
