Radiant rolls out MPEG-2 for cable systems
The VL4125’s compression algorithm and buffer control lets users effectively manage network bandwidth.
Radiant Communications has introduced the VL4125 broadcast MPEG-2 DVB/ASI encoder.
The VL4125 encodes, packets and multiplexes studio-grade quality video and audio over standard transmission streams (TS).
Its compression algorithm and buffer control lets users effectively manage network bandwidth by selecting a bit-rate from 1Mb/s to 50Mb/s. In addition, its output bit rate is programmable from 2Mb/s to 108Mb/s. The packet identification descriptor (PID) number can also be adjusted. The encoder is fully MPEG-2/DVB compliant and supports 4:2:0 resolution and PAL and NTSC video formats.
