Redrock Micro, a provider of accessories for digital filmmakers, has announced its DSLR 2.0 line cinema accessories for video DSLR cameras, including the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS Rebel T1i, Nikon D90 and Panasonic Lumix HG1.
Redrock said its DSLR 2.0 products address an emerging new ultra portable shooting style being embraced by videographers. Because video DSLRs alone are not stable enough nor provide the features for cinema-style production, adapters are needed. Redrock’s products add the weight, form factor and features (such as matte box, follow focus and support cage) that transform DSLRs into viable production rigs.
DSLR 2.0 accessories offer a portable lightweight “building block” solution that can be feature-configured to meet the users’ needs. About two dozen individual components, from handgrips to matte boxes, can be mixed and matched to provide the exact configuration desired. Kit and full rig pricing varies, based on the components selected.
The components feature ultra light design, locking pins for DSLRs to eliminate rotation, and quick release clamps for fast transformations, such as from tripod to handheld shooting.
