Ross Video Adds New Frame to openGear

Ross Video will showcase new signal processing capabilities for its openGear platform with the introduction of its DFR-8320 series at this year’s IBC.

Introduced at the 2008 NAB Show, the 2 RU, 20 slot modular frame offers processing for high-density applications in distribution and conversion for up to 20 openGear cards. openGear is an open-architecture, 2 RU modular frame system designed by Ross Video and supported by more than 15 different terminal equipment manufacturers. The Ross DashBoard Remote Control and Monitoring System and companion SNMP plug-in enables unified control over all openGear cards in a system as well as allowing openGear to tie in with third-party SNMP based systems.

The modular backplane allows the DFR-8320 to offer both a 10 BNC per module rear as well as a split 5 BNC per module rear for applications requiring high density one-in by four-out solutions. This new addition to the openGear family supports any mix of analog, digital, video and audio modules in the same frame.

The openGear modules offered from Ross include a broad selection of audio and video products for distribution, analog conversion, upconversion, downconversion and cross format conversion, fiber, switching, keying and synchronization, as well as a suite of solutions from the 8000 series available with the openGear adapter.

Ross Video will be at Stand 9.D30.
