Russian World Studios selects Euphonix console
Russian World Studios (RWS) one of the country’s premier TV-content and film production companies, has opened a new Dolby E studio in its St. Petersburg-based facility. The heart of the new studio is a 56-fader Euphonix System 5 console with the EuCon Hybrid option for control of Pro Tools and Pyramix digital audio workstations (DAWs) in their St. Petersburg-based facility. The Hybrid control of Pro Tools and Pyramix speeds up the workflow significantly without taking up all of the facility’s DSP resources.
The EuCon Hybrid Option for System 5 digital audio mixing systems extends the control capabilities of the console beyond the dedicated DSP Cores to the outside world, bringing Mac and PC DAWs tracks onto the console surface for mixing. What sets the EuCon protocol apart from other control systems is its use of high-speed Ethernet to communicate with the DAWs. This helps reduce parameter change delays and increases resolution.
Founded in 1998, RWS has supported more than 400 television and film projects, both locally and internationally and has worked with some of the world’s largest international entertainment companies, such as Sony Pictures Television International, Hallmark Entertainment, HBO Films and Beacon Pictures.
In order to meet the ever-growing demands of the international television and film industry, RWS-St Petersburg was opened in 2008 and opened the new Dolby E studio in September of this year.
There are also Euphonix System 5-MC consoles installed in Nevafilm and Melnitsa Animation Studios in St. Petersburg.
