SAPEC, CSD Lanzarote ink DTT deal
SAPEC will supply CSD Lanzarote with transmission-related technology needed to roll out digital terrestrial television (DTT) service for first time in the Canary Islands.
Under the agreement, SAPEC is supplying SIVAC 2000 encoders and a SIVAC MTS1000 DVB-ASI multiplexer. For the operator’s SFN, SAPEC is providing the MIP inserter and the ultra-stable GPS oscillator reference.
A combination of up to four SIVAC Series 2000 encoders and decoders occupy 2RU. The SIVAC MTS1000 multiplexer supports up to eight DVB/MPEG/ATSC inputs and delivers merged ASI or SMPTE310M streams. Surveillance, control and configuration of the components can be done remotely via a Web browser.
CSD Lanzarote has started digital broadcast service for Lanzarote TV, Lancelot TV and Canal L, as well as six additional stereo radio broadcast services.
