Scopus Video Networks has launched the IRP-3910 integrated receiver processor, a multichannel professional decoder, processor and downconverter that meets the needs of cable operators presented by broadcasters’ transition from analog to ATSC digital television.
Following the February 2009 analog shutoff, cable operators are required to continue providing digital and analog NTSC formats through 2012. The IRP-3910 satisfies the need for downconversion to comply with this requirement.
The unit lets cable operators receive, process, multiplex, decode and perform HD downconversion and aspect ratio adaptation of off-air ATSC broadcasts.
The IRP-3910 comes in a compact 1RU chassis and provides up to four channels of HD decoding with dynamic aspect ratio conversion. It also incorporates a multiplexing core that enables grooming and PSIP aggregation of multiple HD and SD programs.
Scopus will demo the IRP-3910 at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2008, June 24-27 in Philadelphia.
