Scopus to show digital simulcasting at Cable-Tec Expo
At the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo next month, Scopus is conducting a live digital simulcast demonstration featuring real-time encoding, multiplexing, grooming, transrating, high-density splicing and edge decoding for simultaneous analog and digital program delivery.
Scopus has now integrated all the components for digital simulcast into a compact video processing mini headend. The system is designed for MSOs that want to roll out digital simulcast quickly in a simple and cost-effective manner.
The system features a single management system with remote monitoring and control of all components from one GUI.
The IVG-7500 Intelligent Video Splicer provides ad insertion, rate shaping and grooming capabilities for digital simulcast network architectures. This video-processing platform features higher quality, SD and HD splicing and standards-based DPI implementation (SCTE 30 and SCTE 35) for compatibility with major ad servers, and, in turn, an integrated ad insertion solution for distributed or centralized all-digital architectures.
The Scopus UE-9240 Universal Encoder is the latest addition to the Scopus real-time encoding platform. It provides four channels of MPEG-2 real-time encoding in a 1RU chassis. The Scopus UID 2912 Universal IP Decoder is a professional MPEG-2 IP decoder that enables cable operators to distribute the same content to both digital and analog subscribers using a single IP distribution network.
