Scopus unveils DVB-S2-based products for satellite broadcasting
At IBC2004, Scopus Network Technologies unveiled a DVB-S2 decoding platform for satellite broadcasting and conducted live demonstrations of its universal encoding platform.
Scopus’ satellite broadcasting system includes professional IRDs and encoders that feature the DVB-S2 technology capabilities. The platforms provide increased programming capacity and enhanced geographical coverage.
Scopus also conducted a live demonstration of its UE-9000 universal encoding platform. The UE-9000 features dual encoding, offering 50 percent improvement in compression. The system is a complete encoding platform supporting SD and HD MPEG-2, MPEG-4 part 10 (H.264) and VC-9 platforms for satellite, cable and telco operators.
