Flying Spot Film Transfer (FSFT), a Seattle-based post-production facility has selected Teranex's StarFilm and ScratchOut tools to reduce noise, dirt and scratch from its clients' HD content. Both systems are part of the imageRestore line, and enable image restoration tasks to be performed on film-originated material.
Teranex's marketing VP Janet Leising said its StarFilm was chosen because it "provides a single platform that does restoration for SD or HD in a single pass." FSFT's president and colorist adds that the tools detect and replace 85 percent of the defects in real-time.
