Shure enters headphone market with new SRH Series
At this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas, Shure previewed its first conventional over-the-ear headphone products. The new SRH line consists of three models, each designed for critical audio monitoring applications where accurate sound, comfort and durability are equally important.
The SRH240, SRH440 and SRH840 are aimed at studio recording engineers and home recording setups. All feature wide, padded headbands for comfortable fit and a closed-back circumaural design for comfortable fit and reduction of background noise. The line features 40mm neodymium dynamic drivers, specifically tuned for neutral balance among low, mid and high frequencies, with rich, full bass, clear vocals and crisp highs. The 10ft coiled cables and ear cups are field replaceable. Impedance and power handling are optimized for use with both professional and consumer audio devices. The SRH440 and SRH840 feature a collapsible design for easy storage, and all come with a carrying bag and spare set of ear pads. The headphones are expected to ship this summer.
