Singapore mall implements IP-based digital signage
1-2-1VIEW, a specialist in digital signage, has installed an IPTV-based digital signage system in Marina Square, one of Singapore’s most popular malls.
The network of 10 displays with screen sizes ranging from 42in to 50in were installed in the busiest parts of the shopping mall, which attracts up to 250,000 people each month.
1-2-1VIEW’s IPTV-based system enables remote scheduling of content by date, time and individual screen. With dynamic distribution and tracking of digital media across an infinite number of screens, the system provides an advertising platform for shop tenants and other businesses outside the mall.
Based on open standards, the company said IP-based video technology had major advantages over other technologies used for digital advertising systems. Those include lower upfront installation costs and a highly scalable network infrastructure that allows users to expand the network without major investment.
Built on a consumer electronics platform, as opposed to commonly used PC-based technology, 1-2-1VIEW said its IPTV technology performs reliably 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
