Jamie Meyer, Pathfire product manager of the Broadcast Groups and Stations, will present “SMPTE S22-10 Opportunities for Workflow Improvements with Metadata” April 27 at NAB2006 in Las Vegas.
Meyer will discuss the SMPTE S22-10 protocol and how it can remove barriers to productivity and create new opportunities for efficiency. Incoming digital content can notify asset management systems of its arrival at a station and indicate its availability. Content metadata and standard system messaging can streamline processing, reducing the time to air and eliminating human error.
The SMPTE S22-10 protocol facilitates real-time communications between systems like content delivery, traffic and master control, and has the potential to change the status quo of TV station operations.
