Sony unveils mono-, stereo-capable shotgun mic
Sony has introduced a new switchable shotgun microphone capable of stereo and monaural operation.
The ECM-680S MS midsize electret condenser microphone is designed for a range of field production and broadcast studio applications and uses newly developed capsules for high sensitivity, low inherent noise and a flat-and-wide frequency response.
The new shotgun mic is designed to be used with a range of Sony professional camcorders or to be mounted on a boom pole.
The ECM-680S MS’s large-diaphragm microphone capsules provide a sensitivity of -28dB (stereo), 32dB (monaural) and noise of less than 20dB SPL (stereo/monaural).
