StarHub, HTC join up to provide seamless MoTV experience
Singapore telecom services provider StarHub has collaborated with HTC to launch the second-generation Android phone, HTC Magic, in Singapore. StarHub has integrated its StarHub mobile TV client in the Android operating system to create a TV menu page on the HTC Magic handset’s main menu, so customers can select and watch any channel from the mobile TV lineup with just one click.
StarHub Mobile on TV is a "live" TV streaming service that features eight channels on any 3G or 3.5G mobile phone. To encourage subscribers to try the service, the $28/month unlimited access service is free for six months to StarHub TV Sports Group subscribers. In addition, StarHub is also offering "by the drink" pricing at only $1 for 24-hour access.
To promote the HTC Magic handset and make it possible to download any application from Android Market, StarHub is offering a free one-month subscription to MaxMobile Value to customers who purchase the phone.
