Streambox to Move NAB2007 With Video Transport Solutions

At NAB, Streambox will present additions to its video transport and newsgathering products for encoding, decoding, and transmission over IP and satellite networks.

Among the new tools are Streambox's ACT-L3 video transport solutions. Providing quality video at low data rates, the ACT-L3 uses the company's innovative error correction and bandwidth shaping technologies, which enable users to manage, control, and mitigate packet loss and correct irregularities inherent in video delivery over satellite and IP/T1/E1 networks.

The new SBT3-5200 video transport system uses the Streambox ACT-L3 Codec and an advanced proprietary compression technology widely used by news organizations and enterprises worldwide and adds the benefit of a smaller, lighter-weight 1 RU chassis. It enables customers to transmit broadcast video in real time over any IP- or satellite-based network for live news broadcasts or distribution to cable headends.

The Streambox Store and Forward extend the capabilities of all Streambox systems to better support storage, management, and transmission of HD and SD video streams over IP-based networks. The optional store-forward feature enables field journalists to simultaneously transfer files and begin play-out, thus making the story available to the news anchor before the file recording is complete. This feature is particularly useful in live broadcasts when the required video quality exceeds the available uplink bandwidth.

The new SBT3-9100 HD video transport system is also coming to NAB2007. It provides full-motion, full-frame 1080i/720p HD broadcast video and audio in real time, over satellite and IP-based networks. The HD encoder/HD decoder works seamlessly with the full range of Streambox systems and solutions. The system is built on Streambox's ACT-L3 Codec, which provides HD video quality from 512 Kbps to 20 Mbps.

Streambox will be at booth SU15515.
