At IBC2007 in Amsterdam, Telairity unveiled the BE8000 real-time HD MPEG-4 AVC H.264-based encoder.
Based on eight Telairity-1 (T1P2000) video processors, which deliver a sustained processing speed of 400GOPs, the BE8000 offers end-to-end latency below 300ms when used in standard mode. The broadcast-quality encoder supports all standard HD formats, including 1280 x 720p up to 60fps and 1440 x 1920 x 1080i up to 60 fields per second. It also supports 1080p formats up to 30fps, including 1080p 24.
The BE8000 can compress HD into bit rates of less than 5Mb/s, so it is well suited for the contribution needs of broadcasters sending electronic newsgathering (ENG) crews into the field.
The 1RU form factor can be set to use the Main or High Profile–Level 4 H.264/AVC encoding standard.
