Telestream Announces New Capture Device
Telestream recently heralded the release of the latest member of its Pipeline series of network capture devices, the Pipeline HD Dual. This is a two-channel hardware-based device that captures high-definition video and encodes it in real time to some of the leading HD editing formats. The Pipeline HD Dual is able to encode video and audio to multiple HD and SD formats and may reside on a network, thus allowing anyone in the system to access it.
"Our family of Pipeline network encoders have changed the game in video capture by providing network-based ingest for the capture and encoding of multiple HD and SD formats from a single device," said Barbara DeHart, Telestream vice president of marketing. "Our ability to support editing or encoding of incoming content while it is being captured makes Pipeline the unparalleled choice for flexibility and speed."
Pipeline HD has also added support for Apple ProRes 422 in HD, Avid DNxHD and Panasonic DVCPRO HD formats.
The Pipeline HD Dual device includes a confidence monitoring feature and preserves source metadata during the encoding process. It also features a redundant power supply for extra reliability. Telestream is including a free software development kit to allow users to integrate the unit into any workflow.
The Pipeline capture device is also available in both single-channel and dual-channel SD versions.
