Thomson has introduced an XML-Gateway, providing complete network connectivity for its Grass Valley Andromeda tally and GPI management system and Nennos signal-management software.
The new XML-Gateway allows users to exchange information between several Andromeda systems, several Nennos systems, and between both systems on any wide area network or local area network (WAN or LAN).
The system's architecture can distribute customizable labels describing the content of signals. These can be assigned to router inputs in each production area. They can then be used locally or shared with other areas, which all have access to the same signal. User-defined access rights determine if imported labels or any other shared information can be overwritten or read only.
The company also has expanded its Grass Valley under-monitor display (UMD) series with the addition of a Universal UMD.
