Tut Systems adds MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 AVC conversion to Astria CP
By TVTechnology
published Tut Systems has added the ability to convert MPEG-2 stored on-demand content to the latest MPEG-4 AVC compression technology to its Astria content processor (CP) video headend solution.
The vast majority of video on-demand content is delivered to service providers in the MPEG-2 format. For service providers deploying services based on the bandwidth-efficient MPEG-4 AVC compression technologies, a bridge is needed to convert content to the new compression standard. The new Astria CP delivers that capability.
