Volicon enhances TV monitoring system with new modules
Volicon, a provider of media monitoring, recording, archiving and streaming products, has added four modules to its Observer television monitoring system.
The new modules built into Observer 3.5 include a more robust search engine module, along with new modules for quality control monitoring, ad verification and video affidavit, and centralized monitoring and viewing.
A new search module features a closed-caption text tool, which searches using an index-based search engine. Users can search by word or phrase, employing features such as word proximity and fuzzy search to achieve more precise results.
Volicon's new quality control monitoring module ensures broadcasters are notified immediately if a signal goes off-air. The system keeps a video and audio log available for review by anyone with a PC and system access. The system's real-time audio alarms include threshold detection, while video alerts include detection of frozen, black or no video.
The new Ad Verification and Video Affidavit Module provide access to transmitted ads and supplies proof of airing. Users can automatically import as-run logs and allow operators to find and review ads and aired content via a Web-based interface. Clip lists featuring specific aired content can be exported to customers for quick confirmation that the contract terms have been met.
The Centralized Monitoring Module allows users to verify broadcast quality and review content from a central location. Operators can use the system to log broadcasts and search, retrieve, analyze and export video clips with metadata, locally or remotely.
