At HD World, Oct. 14-15, Volicon is unveiling the Observer EVO, a new version of the Observer system that adds features specifically for program producers. With 24/7 media monitoring, clip search and retrieval, and export to editing systems, the Observer EVO simplifies and streamlines the process of incorporating news clips into programs.
With EVO, producers can continuously capture, archive and index station and network channels as well as quickly browse, view and edit clips. EVO is able to record content in both HD and an SD browse proxy stream, which operators can then use to view and make rough-cut edits to the clip, saving both disk space and network bandwidth. Then, the original HD stream is automatically transcoded into an industry-standard format for finishing within popular nonlinear editing systems.
