Widevine shows multiplatform, multiformat content protection at IBC2008
By TVTechnology
published Widevine Technologies is demonstrating how to securely enable delivery of content to managed network and Internet-connected consumer devices this week at IBC2008 in Amsterdam.
The company is showing several solutions based on its Widevine Cypher, including:
- Multiformat, multiplatform content protection, which secures telco, Internet, cable, hybrid distribution delivery to set-top boxes, PVRs, PCs, Macs and Internet-connected consumer devices.
- Extending pay-TV services to native video players on PCs, Macs and other Internet consumer devices. The solution converts MPEG-2 transport streams so they are recognizable by Adobe Flash, Apple QuickTime and RealNetworks RealPlayer.
The company also is demonstrating the Widevine Mensor forensic watermarking and tracking solution. Widevine Mensor can upgrade new and already deployed consumer devices to employ an invisible watermark that identifies and deters piracy.
